West Hills Summer Tennis Lessons

Dates: June 14th-17th, June 21st-24t, July 12th-15th, July 19th-22nd, July 26th-29th, Aug 2nd-5th, Aug 9th-12th. (7 weeks, 28 days of programming)

Shooting Stars (Ages 5-8, Red Tennis Ball, 75% Slower than Red Tennis Ball)

Days & Time: Monday-Wednesday 8:00-8:30am

This course is designed for beginning tennis players from ages 5-8. In this course, the focus will be on learning how to track and make contact with the tennis ball. Players will also learn how to properly hold the tennis racquet. We also begin to develop groundstrokes and serves through various drills and games!

Young Stars (Ages 7-10, Orange Tennis Ball, 50% Slower than Yellow Tennis Ball)

Days & Time: Monday-Thursday 8:40-9:25am

This course is designed for players who have completed Red Ball class or have at least 1-2 years of playing experience. In this course, the focus will be on developing groundstrokes, learning how to hit with topspin, and serve and serve return will be introduced. Players at this stage will use the shortened court with a regular tennis net.

Stars (Ages 10-12, Green Dot Tennis Ball, 25% Slower than Yellow Tennis Ball)

Days & Time: Monday-Thursday: 9:30-10:30am

This course is designed for players aged 10-12 who have completed Red and Orange ball training and have mastered the basic strokes in tennis. In this course, players will further develop these strokes and begin to play against one another. Players use the entire court at this stage.

Star Academy Middle School & Intermediate (Age 11-18, Regular Yellow Tennis Ball)

Days & Time: Mondays & Wednesdays: 12-1:30 Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10:30-12

This course is designed for players aged 11-18, who have mastered the basic strokes of tennis and are in-between starting middle school tennis all the way through high school JV. In this course, players will develop their strokes and learn about tennis strategy through drilling, playing games, and competition with one another.

Star Academy Advanced (Age 12+, Regular Yellow Tennis Ball)

Mondays & Wednesdays: 10:30-12 Tuesdays & Thursdays: 12-1:30

This course is designed for players who have Varsity experience. This is intended for players who have been playing at a competitive level through high school tennis or USTA tournament competition beyond 12U. In this course, players will be developing more advanced strokes, learning advanced strategies, and preparing for competitions and tennis beyond high school.
